As part of the pilot, the 3D map of Tartu city will be developed to show energy consumption by each building renovated in the context of the H2020 lighthouse project SmartEnCity. The goal is to reach energy consumption level 90 kWh/m2/year from the 270 kWh/m2/year. Tartu Regional Energy Agency (TREA) has the current energy consumption data per building, which will serve as a starting point. The map will outline development as the lighthouse project proceeds, allowing for visualising changes, getting a better comparative overview of different neighbourhoods in terms of energy consumption, identifying problematic spots, etc.
The 3D city information system could in the future also allow linking the solar analysis results with the city objects using open formats and building open services to make the data available for other applications via open interfaces, visualize the results, etc.
